Without going all Frasier on you, here's my take on it. I've noticed: Dr. Phil and other talk shows slam home schooling. My close friends went that route, and I put 5 kids through public schools. They're ALL fine.

Your question was NOT the pros and cons of HS, it was,"WHY do people in general SAY...."

If you watch, you'll see the majority of those judgemental people are IN the public education industry. This is a job security issue. Most if not all Home school programs have provisions for sociaizing- like PE- community home school groups & swim time, playground meets, etc.

Unless you are VERY controlling parents, the HS kids are NOT isolated, & will NOT be socially dysfunctional as the public school advocates would have you believe.

They insinuate home schooled kids will become so 'weird' that they'll grow up and not be able to deal with society. Right.
