It is apparent in the title "Dramamine". Isaac Brock wrote this song about the effects of overdosing on dramamine. I have taken 12 of the motion sickness pills before and experienced what he is referring to in this song.
They are as follows:
You are definitely spaced out. Completely.
When I began to trip on the 12, my mouth felt really dry and weirdly dirty. I suppose Brock gargled Listerine to combat this nasty feeling.
Your thoughts and conversations are useless. Basically, your mental functions go around in circles. You do not get anything mentally challenging accomplished nor do your conversations go any further than what is originally muttered. Also, your speech is slurred. Your hearing senses are magnified at the time, so everything seems louder than usual. If you stare at a TV turned off, it will appear to be on. Strange images will surface on the screen. They are multicolored and girate and spiral frequently. If you get up and try to walk around, it feels like you have rollerskates or rollerblades on. Walking long distances is definitely not recommended. If you do look at your face in the mirror while tripping, your face will appear to be altering. Sort of like LSD if you have taken that before. Only it is very intense on a lot of dramamine. This maybe why Brock says "look at your face like you're killed in a dream". It is shocking, the face visuals.
The lyrics are not detailed nor lengthy. This leads me to the notion that Brock was tripping on an overdose of dramamine while conjouring up this song. The lyrics go in circles, much like thoughts are while on it. Also, the endless (but great) guitar structure in the song indicates the overall mentality while trippin on dramamine.
Add: Punk/indie music always sends messages about getting around things. Dramamine is a way around more expensive psychedelics. It is at almost every drugstore in America. And cheap too. I am sure the Title is a reference to beating the sytem or finding an alternative way around things and then writing about those experiences.
