How did Jesus pay for people's sins? Did he use a credit card, a check, or did he pull out his Holy Wallet?

You're reading Abortion. A sin or not?

Exactly where in the Bible does it say anything at all specifically about abortion?

I do not do the religious arguments, but based on the principles and teachings of the holy scriptures, killing another human being is a sin. Like you stated "the Bible states murder is a sin..", and abortion results in death of an unborn human, "The only time life is given for life is if the mother's life is lost. (Exodus 21:22-24)" So it is a sin.

That passage doesn't talk about abortion, but about causing a woman to miscarry against her will.

Okay.

Antigone you're missing the point. verse 23-25 says..."But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."
It says if there is harm, you shall pay life for life. This includes both the mother and the baby because they are both talked about. Whether or not it's abortion, if the child dies, so do the ones that caused his or her death. So if it's considered a sin to kill a baby in the manner described in those verses, it stands to reason that abortion (a deliberate act of taking a life) would also be murder.

No, actually, I am not missing the point. Causing a woman to miscarry is specifically not treated as murder in Mosaic Law. Exodus 21:22 "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine." 23-25 are about harm done to the woman, not the fetus. "If any mischief FOLLOW"...aka: what happens after the miscarriage. 22 is the verse that deals with the fetus.
