Broad is often used as an indiscriminate slang term for 'woman.' It may be considered derogatory. Why? I don't know, but I'm not offended by much. But I guess it's like "chick"...don't call people things that don't make sense.

women are called broads, and it comes from the butchers term for "a piece of meat with a hole in it" that is why its offensive... and no.. it is nothing like chick. would you rather be called a cute fuzzy yellow baby chicken or a piece of meat with a hole in it
