Re the alleged "pushing Christianity out of America" parallel with the fall of the Western Roman Empire — you may not be aware of this but when Rome supposedly "fell" it had been under Christian rule, with Christian emperors and Christianity as the official state religion (indeed, pagans were the ones being suppressed at this point) for well over 100 years.
