Help answer this question below.

In an absolute atheistic society, how would that society develop rules when everyone believes they are the highest being in the universe? What reason would they have to listen?

    So basically, you are saying that the only reason you don't run around and steal, rape, and murder is because you are afraid of god?

    • I agree. I forget who said it, but I once heard a great comment about the "surveillance" aspect of religion - those who abstain from committing criminal acts because their holy book or God tells them to, may in fact be the most naturally-dangerous among us, as they are implicitly stating that without such a holy book or God, they would basically revert to an animalistic state free or any moral beliefs or obligations.
