Yes, he was impeached on two charges, Obstruction of Justice and Purjury to a Grand Jury, by the House of Represenatives, but was cleared by the Senate for the Obstruction charge. I think it was all a power ploy by the Republicans from start to finish. An affair is not an impeachable offense. It's a civil matter. As to Whitewater all the trial did was prove he was involved in a failed bussiness deal where some of the players commited illegal acts. Also not an impeachable offense since it happened before he was in office. If it was Bush would have been impeached from the three failed oil companies he ran where rampant corupption was found. To be a truely impeachable offense you have to prove an inability to do the job or that the president committed illegal acts in office and used the power of his office to cover it up. Something which Clinton never did, but we all know Bush does with shocking regularity.
