I, too, have had a phlegm problem since childhood until I stopped consuming dairy products. That would be my first suggestion. Try avoiding all types of dairy for 14 days and see if there is a difference. It can be difficult to change your diet especially if you've been used to having cereal, sandwiches, pizza, lasagna's etc, which all can use or combine dairy but, I suggest making the effort.

In addition you can increase your vitamin C intake. I would suggest high quality like that produced by Perque. www.perque.com
You can see the info on their Vitamin C here: http://www.perque.com/pdfs/PERQUE-Potent-C-Guard-Powder.pdf

Lastly, which may not sound pleasant, you can try nasal lavage. In essence it is combining salt in a glass of water and inhaling through your nose. The liquid flushes the nasal passages and comes out the mouth. You can also add Vitamin C to the mixture as well.
