Do Mormons ever date people of other religious affiliations?

    Yes of course. The gospel teaches members to associate with those who are uplifting and inspire them to be more charitable, Christlike, etc. It follows that dating should be along the same lines, and that those who marry should be of similar standards. A similar thought is of friendships- if one associates with those that drink or engage in criminal behavior one will be more likely to lower their standards to that level.

    The church does not discourage members from dating those who are not of the Mormon faith, it simply incourages dating amongst those with similar standards. It becomes easier, although not always the case, that those in the church do have those similar standards and the lines of standards are clearer because of the uniformity of the doctrine adhered by the members. I.E. the standards are clearer than those who may be of other faiths.
