Presumably you mean how can free sex be a sin, because it is this type of sex that is sin.

Just because something feels good it does not make it good. I expect taking drugs makes people feel good that does not make taking drugs good. It has its down sides. The same can be said about free sex.

    • by 'free sex' I meant promicuous sex. So your comment suggests that one has to indulge in promiscuous sex "correctly" to enjoy it. And how is that?

    • Promiscuous is a word used by people who :

      (A) are religious types

      or

      (B) not getting any

      or a bit of both

    • Promiscuous sex, or if you prefer, sleeping around has its down sides even from a non-religious perspective. For example, there is no commitment if something more alluring passes by it's your bye bye, ther's no care if something happens to you it's your problem, one can end up with a feeling of 'used and discarded', there's a higher risk of catching an STD, etc. etc.

A prominent Muslim, asked about the intense pleasure of sex, said it was God's way of giving humans a tiny taste of the pleasures awaiting His obedient beings in paradise.

    • Leaving a medieval religion to one side and coming into the 21st century, we have this wonderful invention called the condom.

    • True, but they are not 100% guaranteed. In any case they can only solve the STD problem. They can't do anything about the other possible down sides.

    • Well I choose not to be repressed about it.

    • It's not a question of not being repressed by thoughts of the possible pitfalls but rather not falling into the pitfalls. Of course, YOU may be astute or lucky enough to avoid the pitfalls, but there may be those, influenced by you, who are not clever or lucky enough to avoid the pitfalls.

    • There is nothing embarrassing or dirty about enjoying sex, thats probably why we sent all the puritans to a different country

    • Agreed, at the right time (not while one party is feeling physically or emotionally unwell) and in the right place (not on the seats of a crowded plane)between the right people (not a teacher and pupil of a state school) there is nothing embarrassing, dirty or wrong about sex.
