If it is an old dog, forget it. If it is a young dog, obedience class or look for books on dog training. You could also watch where the dog is and keep your leg out if you have to open the door when he/she is right there. It's only common for them to want to go out.

As for electric collars and such, I don't believe in them AT ALL, and think you can teach a dog not to do that if you investigate a few avenues and seriously work on it.

    • I believe you can always teach a dog new things no matter what their age is. My dog is 12 years old and he can learn almost anything I throw at him. for that I'm sorry I like you and you usually have so many intellegent things to say but I had to give you a negative for saying that.

    • So you give negatives when you disagree with someone? Interesting criteria you use. Yet you did not even post an answer yourself.

    • I am butting in. I don't agree with giving negative points cause they mean dick all anyway. But I do believe this person gave you them for the reason they were intended. She didn't find it helpful. (I guess.) Sucks. But good for her that she admitted it.
