This will date me for sure, but I had a Commodore 64, and then a few years later an Apple, around 1979 I think.

Since Windows came out (1995-6), I have had about one new/different computer about every 12-18 months.

This one was custom made for me by a computer guy who I trust. It has all the speed and other things I will need for some time. He put alll the latest stuff on it and it is just 6 months or so old. At 3.5 mhrz speed, I won't need anything faster than that I am sure. It is in a server tower case, so the various componants in bays can be updated easily over time if/when I want to update it.

    • I still love the classic line of Commodre's. When you turn it on, it place you straight into 'Basic' programming language. You didnt have to buy all your games, for those with the patience, you could program your own. It really taught the workings of a computer.

    • Nobody wants to learn the workings of a computer, old guy! They just wanna surf porn. Time to update those expectations!

    • You say your current one runs at 3.5MHz. Surely you mean GHz? Or do you still use your commodore software?

    • Chris: Sorry I am not a techno whiz, and also I make typos. I meant GHz of course.
