Here's one i wrote myself, it's about the end of the war.

Within This Quiet Place

As light comes near I see hope’s face,
The guns have stopped the night is still,
I am within this quiet place.

The pain has gone on wings of grace
Inside my heart less is the chill,
As light comes near I see hopes face.

The noise has left without a trace,
I stand upon a silent hill,
I am within this quiet place.

The stars are free far out in space,
I pray for no more blood to spill,
As light comes near I see hopes face.

The things I’ve seen I wish erased,
I’d never look again to kill,
I am within this quiet place.

I think as I watch sunrise fill,
There are some things you can’t replace
As light comes near I see hopes face,
I am within this quiet place.
