To LGBT folks and friends, when you speak to someone voicing homophobic opinions, do you expect what you say to have an impact?

    Whenever I have the opportunity to tell someone why they shouldn't be homophobic, or why they shouldn't treat me any differently because I'm bi, you can bet your arse I'm gonna take it. And I may not make an impact, but I can point out things that make you go "hmm", and some things that can make you start to second guess what you believe. If I have the courtesy to listen to their side, then they better have the decency to listen to my rubuttal.
    And most people I talk to understand what I'm saying, even if they don't agree with it personally.
