It's because it causes build up. I used the smooth and sleek and couldn't curl my hair anymore. A beautician friend gave me a tip though, use baking soda to wash your hair every once in a while. Removes all the build up. (it will be poofier than normal for a while though)

    • Baking soda is a mysterious pixie powder.

It cleans pools, cools insect bites, gets rid of urinary tract infections, helps goods bake, gets rid of odors, cleans counter tops and stoves, bathtubs and generally anything in your house, works for carpets, gets rid of oil stains, and apparently, it also helps your hair.

Baking soda does everything. I'm convinced it's not of this planet.

    • So do you just apply it to your wet hair in the shower?

    • About an eight of a cup in some water, work the mix into your hair. Rinse it out, then condition with apple cider vinegar.

    • Thanks. I will try that. I have used ACV before and it seemed to help. I feel the same way about it that you do about baking soda. It's a magical elixir that cleans everything!
