Help answer this question below.

Should those bright white lights on some cars be made illegal; I find myself blinded by them when driving at night?

    I think that they are certainly quite bright and distracting, especially when you come upon one on a lonely road and it's been quite dark for a while. It also seems to be a problem when you're riding in a much lower car than the person with the brighter lights because they shine right in your eyes. I do wonder if they are much brighter while you are driving. I noticed in my fathers' car (a newer BMW) that the lights were carefully positioned towards the road. Being involved in directional lighting as a career for quite some time and then seeing my fathers' lights, I have to say that it is quite possible that these lights could be much better focused than they are now and could possibly eliminate a lot of the light going right into other drivers' eyes. I don't think that making them illegal would be an easy task, and I don't think it is necessary, I just think they should be done right.

    • I need to drive with a hand over my eyes at times and I drive slower so that they will pass me at times.

    • they are a lot better at night and you can see better people need to grow up and deal with it or that person will switch back to the old lights and not see you and run you over then you will wish they had the bright lights
