Why is it traditional for the female members of the departed to receive a flower from the grave site after the burial?

    that version of that tradition someone at that funeral changed from the real tradition the tradtion was the flowers usually roses that are on top of the casket are removed just before it is lowered it is also customary that each member of the immediate family reach down and grab a scoop of the dirt and toss it onto the casket most of the women didn't want to get there hands dirty so they would remove a rose from the arrangement and toss it into the grave and any one else who so chose to could also do the same and if they wanted could take one and keep it
