I have been in the hotel business for a long time and I can tell you NO they are not as clean as they sould be! Hotel management usually requires the maids to do at a minimum 15 rooms. They have a maximum time of 30 minutes to do the work in each room. If they are double{x2 beds} that is approximately 30 beds. They have to clean toilet, tub/shower,sink and mirror,as well as the floor. They also have to dust and vacuum. All of this in an 8hr. period! Many maids will cut corners and/or be lasadasical{lazy}in the cleaning of the rooms. And although there is an inspectress to "inspect" the room they can also be as negligent in thier duties as well. The best way to tell if a room is clean is to take a small black-light w/you when checking in, turn all the lights out, turn the black-light on, anything that shows up white indicates germs and bacteria/dirt. Pull the covers back as well, semen will also show! It is you who are paying for a room and you should be protected against unnecessary germs and bacteria/dirt!

    • And don't cuddle up with the comforters. I was a housekeeper/maid for awhile and we were to not take the comforters off to be cleaned. Ew.
