I heard that Popes are not embalmed and that the test for Sainthood depends on whether or not the body decays. Is this correct?

    The bodies of most popes in recent times have been embalmed, with varying degrees of success.

    Whether the body decays is but one factor considered in bestowing sainthood.

    • Pogster, All popes bodies will decay at the same rate as any other human beings. THEY ARE JUST PEOPLE. I wish the catholic church would
