How do the shields work?

    Basically, every time you get hit with a projectile or some form of energy weapon your shield is the first line of defense.

    The bar will decrease after each hit it absorbs (some attacks will soak up your shield faster than others).

    When it reaches zero, the only thing between you and death is your health bar.

    Note that the energy sword used by Elites bypasses your shield altogether, and one swipe of that will kill you.

    One charged shot of a plasma pistol will also drain all your shield energy, but won't decrease your health.
