Why do we never see toilets on Star Trek?

    The idea of showing a toilet was just too socially unacceptable during the run of those shows, especially the original, run in the 60's. The original series was shot at a time when even showing a bit of skin would have been deemed inappropriate and would have never even been considered. The ST-TNG series showed a little more, but even then the show was supposed to be 'tasteful' in presentation.
