When I take short daytime naps, I wake up feeling even more tired than when I went to sleep. Why might this be?

    When you lay down for a nap, your body is confused into thinking you are trying to sleep like you do at night. In other words, when you fall asleep, your body prepares to shut down for a serious sleep session, mentally and physically. Therefore, when you wake up later that afternoon, your body feels like it has woken up before it was supposed to, giving you that "just woke up in the middle of the night" feeling.

    When going to bed at night, try to set yourself a resonable bedtime to ensure that you get quality sleep at night so that your body isn't craving it during the day. Limit your caffiene intake and quit after 12 pm.

    There are medications now specifically designed for daytime fatigue too. If you talked to your doctor about daytime fatigue, you'll be prescribed a drug that will help you stay alert and feel more energized during the day, and in return, getting a better sleep at night.
