I tried every single remedy I could find to get rid of the warts I had (under my fingernails - one of the most difficult to get rid of, aside from Plantars). I had pretty good results with duct tape (really!) and good results from Compound W gel (NOT the liquid!). Unfortunately they didn't get rid of all of them completely. Even the dermatologist couldn't get them off - he tried freezing them, and he tried this nasty liquid made from ground up blister beetles.

My warts didn't go away until I decided to accept them and leave them alone. Once I did that, they went away in a few weeks. I know it sounds odd.

For Plantar warts, I used a cream called Duoplant, which kills the skin around the wart. That was accompanied by weekly visits to the Dr. to have the dead skin carefully cut away with a razor blade. Eventually the wart just dropped off.

Really though, I had the best results combining the Compound W and the duct tape - just follow the instructions for the gel, then put the duct tape over it (I used enough to cover the wart and hold on to the skin around it). It gets pretty painful, but it works great - I did get rid of one wart with it. The trick is to LEAVE IT no matter how bad you want to peel it off! I took it off for a half hour a day, then put new gel and tape on.
