How long does the 'in love' experience last - I mean the honeymoon period like when you are courting where they are gorgeous, because I thought it changed from passionate to companiate in marriage?

    It's different for all people. You can be with someone who's in the honeymoon period forever while you're saying to yourself alright, get over it already.

    • Shel, Now I can explain my behavior better to my s/o...I agree the "in love" period you speak of is the sparks in the early stages of a relationship. Over time the ember glow starts to dim and sometimes fizzles out. It is important you always fan the fires so they don't ever go out but the glow will weaken. Throw in kids, school, larger debt, loss of jobs, moving...you get the picture. It takes work, lots of work but there are many success stories out there. The end result is priceless and books and movies are written over these themes.
