What oil type does a 2006 Subaru Impreza RS Sedan (2.5 L engine) take?

    It will say for sure in the maintance section of your owners manual. But most likely a 10w/40 will be appropriate. Oils are graded by weight and viscocity i.e. 10W(weight) 40(viscocsity). Because it is a new vehicle you should use a good quality oil. Some good brands around the world are STP, BP, Penzoil, Mobil, etc, etc. Basically you will get what you pay for so if you love your car like I love mine spend up! p.s. did you know that subaru backwards spells u r a bus. Just some useless info for you to know.

    • I do not have an owner's manual because it's not my car. I'm purchasing a care package for my friend for christmas, and I'd like to get her a couple quarts of oil for her (because she doesn't take care of cars very well and will probably run the engine dry)
