I once was the guest of the military police at CFB Borden overnight. A bunch of us had whooped it up after the last night of ordinance training and were returning to barracks when a pal of mine made the comment "nice guns baby" to a female Provo. If you ask me, she took it the wrong way but it was dark and I could only see one. Needless to say, guilt by association and all of us were locked up. My pal got the living daylights beaten out of him in his cell by the Provos. It went on most of the night. The rest of us were consigned to scraping paint off of coke cans with a plastic knife or face the same justice.
I think I'll pass on staying in those accommodations again. The service wasn't 5 star and the view was terrible. The concierge didn't even hail us a cab.

    • Interesting story. Now what the heck is going on with the new avatar? It needs subtitles or something...

    • Hmm.. I slowed down the fish a bit for your old human Mk 1 eyeballs. It shows fine here on FF. Ahh..got it, shows ok here, but the flag animation got buggered. I'll fix it.

    • It doesn't look anything like what you're seeing over here. It looks like a yellow coffee cup being beaten to a pulp by a series of diver's flags. No fish at all. Using FF 1.5.0.8. Very weird...

    • Shows ok in FF 2.0. No coffee cup. It may be because I used an old free version of their software to edit the image. I dunno.

    • Well if you send me the original I can use Photoshop to slow it down. That's a pretty reliable tool. (Now the tail of the fish is stuck in the lower-left corner, no animation at all)

    • It's back to the original. Check your eyes. I have photoshop, just used the coffeecup because it's quicker. I cycled it. Hmmm, interesting, it does stop after 4 minutes or so. I dunno, lost my back up, so you're eyeballs are stuck with it now until I get around to figuring it out ...next year

    • Well all I can say is "it ain't movin". I guess if nobody else complains it's not a real problem.

    • That's a terrible story! How long ago was it? There should be accountability for such tyrrany!

    • It would be over 22 years ago now and that's just par for the course in the military. Accountability? Let's just say, "nothing happened" and leave it at that. There are some things best left alone.

    • Having been a Military Policeman I can assure you nothing like that went on at our stockade.
We arrested many drunks, yes they were belligerent when we took them in but they were ALWAYS lambs after they slept it off. Nobody was ever beat up there, only if they fought us would they get any bruises. We simply filed a report and took them back to their company commander for disciplinary action.
I never arrested anyone for name calling either, especially if they were just with someone who did it. It would surely call for an investigation if you were beat up while in custody. I don't know where you were stationed but it needs to be investigated.
