I believe that people are born gay. This is not only backed up through anecdotal evidence but also through scientific evidence, such as observation and research.
The anecdotal evidence is as varied as are the people contributing to it. Gay men and women, I being one of them, tell countless tales of how they had first gotten an "inkling" about these urges, usually about the same time as straight people first experience the same type of urges, though, obviously, involving the opposite sex. Then the stories really diverge, ranging from tragic to revelatory. Some repress these emotions, only to re-awaken to them later on, while others may go so far as to attempt a total suppression of what they view as "alien" or "disgusting" or even "unnatural" feelings, hiding both from the feelings as well as hiding the feelings themselves. Others may even immediately come to accept these feelings as normal, which, I would assume most psychologists would agree to be the most healthy for the individual. Others still will eventually come to terms with them. All of this is indicative of an internal struggle to cope with what they feel inside and balance this against what society has deemed to be at best inferior and at worst unnatural and offensive. Not something that is "learned".
At this point, I would have to ask, just where do you think we learned to be gay? For most gay people, both parents are straight -- and here a thing: most gay people come from straight parents, so why such controversy surrounding gay parenting? -- and if we're all exposed to the same kind of cultural influences, just when did we "pick up on" being gay when others did not?
Over the past two centuries, more than 1500 different species of animals have been observed to exhibit homosexual behavior. 500 species have been very well documented and studied. There is a museum installation exhibiting these species now in progress at the Oslo Natural History Museum in Oslo, Norway entitled "Against Nature?" Who do you think has "trained" these animals to be gay?
Most of the controversy around homosexuality comes from one source: religion. So, I feel that if anyone truly seeks to understand homosexuality, they really need to step away from the religious spotlight on it and attempt to view it free from any slant.

I read some study that indicated we are all born BISEXUAL but that generally we sort it out biologically and become WHAT/WHO we then ARE.
Excellent answer over all..interesting, and factual!
