How long does it take for a piercing to close up?

    Lip piercings as well will close up in 30min whereas nose piercings will generally last a few days.

    • Wow.. I guess Im an oddity. I have had my lip ring out for 2 days once and it stayed open.

    • yeah, my lip piercing has never healed...it was pierced for 3 months and then I took it out (has been out for almost 2 years now)...I still have an ugly hole on the edge of my lip :(

    • Sorry, I wrote that a long time ago and I had no idea what I was on about! Lip piercings CAN close in 30min (more likely a few hours/a day) because the inside of your mouth heals really quickly. You'll always have a wee scar on the outside though. Nose piercings last pretty much forever, or so I can gather.
