Why bother answering like this? It brings nothing to the question! -4

the question has no honest answer and i am sure the one who ask it knows this as well.
by Blank Savage on August 26th, 2007
The question does have an honest answer, I doubt anyone on here knows the answer and if they did I doubt they would give it, but there is an honest answer!
Also none of ypur answers are actual spices.
by slothmister on August 26th, 2007
since like you said no one knows then how can you be so quick to judge mine is wrong.
by Blank Savage on August 26th, 2007
1. because none of yours are spices.
2. because you only used flour over n over again

This recipe I really don't understand and wouldn't even try to make because of the cloves and dill not to mention the Chipotle Chile, mustard and repper pepper, that all spells HOT. And KFC Original was not a bit hot. Check out Syntari's recipe and Retroglide's for a more realistic approch.

I agree Chipotle Chile, Mustard and red pepper will make a hot tasting chicken not only that but since there are no quanties listed this user don't really know !
by Syntari on March 28th, 2008
Just because she did not list the quanities does not necessarily mean she does not know. I really feel the Colonel's original recipe can be improved upon. She got 3 correct.

Sanders would not have had access too or even known what Chipotle Chile was back in the day. Ky was completely void of the Hispanic population. Good fried chicken is soaked in hot sauce before frying it gives it a good flavor but you won't taste the heat!

There was a chicken fryer Wear-Ever sold that fried chicken under pressure and I believe that to be one of the keys to KFC's orgional taste. KFC or the chicken I ate as a teen from the orgional restaurant in Corbin, KY tastes much different from what they are serving today all over the world. The taste of the chicken changed in the 80's as I remember in all the KFC's. Most likely because they quit using lard to fry it in just like MickyDees did with their fries. To figure out what he used go back in time and find out what was available to Harlen Sanders. For sure it wasn't even close to what's in the stores today in the area where he lived and wasn't close to what was available in most of the other states in that time period. KY is a very poor state then and now, it can't be that hard to figure out! Success depends on three key things, salt, sugar and fat.

Gambler,
My Grandfather had a recipe he said was the Colonel's. He worked in restaurants in KY during the Depression through the 1940's. I've posted the recipe he used, but am not sure if the measurements are correct. Could you please take a look and advise me.
Thank you,
