Some girlfriends do not need upgrading... just proper maintenance. However; if you have chosen a model that is not compatible with you, or if you have chosen a model that is beyond your means to afford/perform the proper maintenance, then I suggest trading her in for one that is more right for you. Be careful though! Some makes/models have a self-destruct mechanism that automatically initiates when they sense you are interested in another model. If you are happy with the make/model that you have currently and are just looking to upgrade, then I suggest purchasing the Engagement/Marriage package. Again... be careful! Some makes/models are not compatible with this upgrade and lose some vital functions after installation. The functions that seem to be mostly affected are the Career, Sex and Reasonability functions.

FYI... This information could also pertain to those wishing to upgrade their current boyfriend models. Although the Marriage upgrade does not seem to create as many system errors in the Sex function after installation as much as it does in the some girlfriend models, the Career and Reasonability functions could still be adversely affected.

    • Ha funnyman keep in mind the marriage upgrade on the male versions have one defect that the manufacturer has been unable to improve - the hearing feature shuts down and vocal skills cease to function.

    • You're welcome, Jay.

Misstarrie, I found that my model also lost it's navigation capabilties. He could not find his way to the grocery store once the marriage module was installed.

    • Meow, there have been no reported errors in the Navigation function. I think the problem is related to the lack of a proper Communication function program. Seems that he may have not understood your directive. :P

    • Jay maybe the male model loses his navigation skills 1.because he doesn't consult the manual about anything (male version thinks he knows it all) 2. he does well during the test drive but once you bring him home he can't seem to find the *ignition button* on the female version to initiate launch mode 3. male model needs remote capability because he goes into shutdown phase once he enters his home dock.....:P

    • Ouch Meow! That could be expensive to repair. I would suggest trading him in rather than incurring the costs to have him rebuilt. Unless you can tolerate the imperfections. He may still operate basic functions just fine, but you will have to put up with slow start ups and frequent unexpected shutdowns. :)

    • Misstarrie, several errors can occur without the installation of a proper Communication program. The Communication system plays a vital part in all other functions. Even though it may seem that other functions are lacking, the basic Communication program installed by the factory when your boyfriend was built is subpar and not compatible with the Marriage upgrade. Why else do you think it is sold separately and priced very high? As far as the problems with your model's Sex functions, I blame an error caused by loading an uncompatible Marriage upgrade... not that the Marriage upgrade itself is the problem, but your model may not have been built to accomodate such an upgrade. While a Viagra module may temporarily solve the system errors, the long term effects have not yet been identified. :P

    • Meow, good choice! If you are searching for another system, then I suggest looking for one of the few models with an advanced Communication upgrade installed as part of their standard equipment package. Some versions are not compatible with today's latest upgrades, so be careful and show wisely! :P

    • Thank you, Jay. I think I will just lease. That way when my model becomes obsolete, I can just trade it in. :P

by Meow Meow 1BadMutha TBMF on August 24th, 2007

    • Not a bad idea, Meow... you just have to be careful of the mileage and keep up on proper maintenance when you lease. With high mileage and improper maintenance, your model's trade-in value may not be very high when it is time for the lease to expire. :P
