Not at all. Sexual orientation in no way determines whether one believes in gods or not, and vice versa.

There are homosexuals even in religions where homosexuality is strictly banned, though many decide to stay in the closet and may have conflicting beliefs. However, there are many religions out there that do not ban homosexuality. Some tolerate homosexuality while banning homosexual acts, others frown on homosexual acts but not severely (considering us all to have our faults), and in some religions homosexuality is not seen as an issue at all - or even as a positive thing (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality#Religion).

    -------------------------
    To Keaner:

The questioner did not ask if the Christian god does or does not approve of homosexuality - hence the reason why it was not in my answer. The point of the question had nothing to do with Christianity and its god specifically. Christianity is one of many other relgions - and since the question addresses theism as whole, it would be wrong to answer by only repeating the beliefs of some Christian denominations, which the questioner probably already knows. My answer is not meant to either condone or reject homosexuality, only to explain that homosexuality is accepted in many religions (which the questioner does not seem to be aware of) and, more to the point, explain that beliefs about homosexuality and one's own sexual orientation are often at odds, and therefore one does not have to be atheist to be homosexual.

    • The point here is. "Is homosexuality banned by God and the answer is definately yes, do you remember Sodom and Gomorah, well they were all destroyed and remember Gods standards never change.

    • Also remember that homosexuality is not just a FAULT, is a disgusting act, and very unnatural, remember God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve!

    • The word christian means follower of christ, one cannot claim to be a follower of christ and be a homosexual. Homosexuality is condemned by the Bible, i guess you they could say"i am christian, but to be accepted by our creator as a Christian is another thing.

    • One cannot claim to be a follower of Christ and preach hatred and intolerance in His name. Bigotry is the "disgusting act" in this case. And "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" is probably one of the most tired and ridiculous "arguments" that people like you throw around.
