What's the difference between ethics and morals?

    This is the definition of ethics
    The science of human duty; the body of rules of duty drawn from this science; a particular system of principles and rules concerting duty, whether true or false; rules of practice in respect to a single class of human actions; as, political or social ethics; medical ethics.
    This is the definition of morals
    n. 1. motivation based on ideas of right and wrong.

    So the way i am taking it is ethics is like a stander rule that is set by society and morals are somethings that are taught by what you see and hear.
    An example that is coming to mind is a crack whore that sells her body we as ppl looking in know it is wrong because of ethics but the child that has grow up seeing this might think it is moraly ok to sell your body to get things because they have watched their mom do it all their live. there for has no selfesteem and no love for other
    But i hope others answer this because i really an not sure just going off of what i read
