I reccomend http://www.webshots.com/explore/?vhost=www you do need to be a member and downoad their free software, I think they allow five free downloads a day, and there are premium photos you have to be a paid member to get, but there's tons there for free.
Perhaps the rater does not realize (because I did not say) that I searched the web for what the asker wanted and did not find it at all. What shots I did find were lousy resolution. Webshots formats all their shots to look good on your desktop. And it's FREE for crying out loud! I'm not going to post a link to any particular shot there because there are way too many.
So, why is this not useful? I would appreciate a comment on this. I'm not going to go after you. I didn't get the ratings I have by being a vindictive troll.

You're reading I'm looking for a picture of falling rain for my desktop. A somewhat gloomy looking one. Something big enough to fit and look good. 900x900 or something. Any websites or anything I could get one from?

I've had it on my desktop for a few years now. I love it. I don't pay for the premium there's enough good free stuff.
