Is it normal for a child to want to be with you while you're throwing up? Any harm in allowing that?

I believe it normal for a child to want to be there with you is as it's showing their compassion for you in your illness. Show them your appreciation for their concern and letting them see you vomit won't harm the child as throwing up is something everybody experiences. They will either be 'grossed out' or even more compassionate ie starting to cry if they actually see you vomiting.
