Someone told me today that they do not believe in love, that it doesn't really exist. What are your thoughts on that? I was baffled when I heard that!

I also don't believe love is real...it's just chemicals in your brain...no physical connection to another person, at least not a lasting one.

my ex has had an emotionally scarring life that i have had to watch for elevan years now. listen, love is when a 100 lb. mother lifts a car to rescue her baby. real love is when a man throws himself in the way of a bullet to save his family. real love is when a boy's mother dies when he's 8, then at 10 his father, then ends up on the streets at 15, and at 18, the first glance at a complete stranger gives him the will to live again. and ends up celibrating his 18th aniversery. this is not me, thats my father. believe it or not i'm 12 years old. i know REAL love is rare. even a successful marriage does not always demonstrate love. but its out there, and its the best gift god could ever give us. i haven't seen my ex in months and when i heard heard her say she didn't believe in love anymore i was crushed. but for once, it want because i lost her. it was because of her pain, and that i couldn't make her happy.
