Build the fastest space ship and fly off the earth in to space because it would engulf the earth.

Distance from the earth to the sun is about 93000000 miles. The speed of light is about 186000 miles/second. That works out to 500 seconds, or 8 minutes . Hope that helped .

In those eight minutes you would kiss your rear end good-bye and huddle up in a corner. There would be no hope. Life would cease to exist.

Wouldn't we have MUCH less than 8 minutes left if the Sun were to blow up? I'm pretty sure the force of the explosion/implosion would lead to a black hole.
