Approximately eight minutes. So, if the Sun were ever to blow up, we wouldn't know until eight minutes later...

    • Build the fastest space ship and fly off the earth in to space because it would engulf the earth.

    • Distance from the earth to the sun is about 93000000 miles. The speed of light is about 186000 miles/second. That works out to 500 seconds, or 8 minutes . Hope that helped .

    • In those eight minutes you would kiss your rear end good-bye and huddle up in a corner. There would be no hope. Life would cease to exist.

    • Wouldn't we have MUCH less than 8 minutes left if the Sun were to blow up? I'm pretty sure the force of the explosion/implosion would lead to a black hole.
