What do you think is the best Bass line/riff in a song? I nominate "La Femme D'Argent" by Air

    "Something" (Paul McCartney) by The Beatles has one of the most beautifully constructed, melodic bass lines ever written. I think every bass player should learn it, and learn from it.

    Dave Ellefson's introduction to Megadeth's "Five Magics" also strikes me as inordinately cool. YMMV. :-)

    • I think Paul McCartney's bass on Something was good, but maybe a bit too good...like he was trying to outdo George on his own song.
