    It's probably a lot to expect, but I wish that the process had been more transparent and democratic as opposed to: "TAH-DAH!". Yes, it's a website, not a democracy, but we are a community and it would've felt more appropriate for this process to have acknowledged that reality.

    My personal appreciation of the candidates aside, I think the position requires a well-established history of even-handedness in issues involving trolls, sockpuppets, etc. I don't think this can be said uniformly of those selected.

    Despite these minor misgivings, I wish them well, and do trust that they will execute their roles responsibly.
