My lover just referenced an unspeakable moment from 34 years ago & I feel distress. I never bring these things up. What should I do?

    Take the high road... If there is one in the situation... If not, then there must be a reason your "lover" brought up the moment... If it is because of something drastic, then maybe it is time to reconcile/solve the issue... If it is because your "lover" is being immature or a jerk, then I am free...
