You're reading Shouldn't "Toys for Tots" be re-named "Toys for Minorities?"
Comments
The beautiful doll I donated will make a little girl very happy.
The stuffed animals will make any child happy.
Like I said in a comment, if I didn't want a minority child to receive the toys, I wouldn't have donated at all.
Don't be a smart-ass.

You think that by calling that program "Toys for Minorities" sounds appropriate? People who are receiving the toys for their tots already feel bad because they can't afford toys for their kids. You are implying that poor people are the minorities of their communities. Actually, the minority are the rich people, especially these days.

Marguerite is totally right.
Like I tried to tell Gray, here in Indiana the Naval facility I work at provided toys, and cloths for 128 needy families. ALL of them were white.
Should we start calling our program Toys for trailer trash?
PS: The Marines are part of the Navy. As a sailor I support all USMC toy drives.
