My bf likes to bite me (softly) when we hug. He says that it is because he feels like I am his when he does this... Does it make sense?

I do that, and have the same rationale, it also makes perfect sense to me! It makes me feel like she is "mine", and apparently it makes my fiancee feel "safe" as she describes it.
It's that animalistic, protective behavior that male mates show to their females...if that makes any sense...I feel secure in the fact that she is "mine" and I can "protect her" and she feels safe because she is "protected" and "loved"...Your BF is like me, more in touch with his primal side...
