Help answer this question below.

Is there any way that I can receive a (deleted and not read) receipt from a sent email? Barring accidental deletion or previewing for a shorter time than the timer for marking as read for the preview window.

No, that is not possible. There are only two kinds of receipts, delivery and read receipts. The delivery one doesn't always work as it depends on the remote mail server to support that function. The read receipts require the user on the other end to allow it. But there are no other kids of receipts.
