We stocked our 5.5 acre pond last summer. We used a biologist that the state provided for free. He came out once a month and did various tests on the water, algae, etc. He also bought, brought and released different species of fish at specific times. We now have a great pond with ample fish including (FLA bass, bream (coppernose bluegill and shellcracker) and we put Talapia in the summer but they die in the winter.
The most important steps were keeping the algae "in bloom" and letting the feeder fish get established before introducing the game fish.
