Does it hurt to get your ears pierced?

    I've gotten six ear piercings in my lobes - three in each ear. I got the first ones at Claire's when I was seven, and the others at my doctor's office when I was 14 and 16.

    It's always been the same feeling - just like being pinched really hard. If you're really scared, try to get it done like they do at Claire's, where they pierce both at once (when my best friend was little, she ran away after the first one and had to be chased through the mall to get the second). Afterwards, it might ache a little bit, and it'll be a a little sore, like a bruise. Just keep it clean! Use a Q-Tip and some Hydrogen Peroxide twice a day, every day until you can remove the earring (usually about six weeks, I think). If you don't, an infection will hurt worse than the piercing - trust me, I've had a lot.

    My biggest advice to keep it from hurting is not to sleep on it. If you're like me and you just have to sleep on your side, maybe put the top of your head on the bottom edge of your pillow, just so that you're not on that part of your ear. Good luck!
