Churches and schools are closing at an alarming rate...is this a sign of anything?

    Except in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    Seems like the day after any store goes out of business, someone's setting up a church in it... Nothing fancy; usually a "Mom & Pop" operation with a congregation of 3.

    You can't drive 2 city blocks in any direction without seeing one of these. The same might be true in other parts of the bible belt; I can't say.

    (As for the other part of your question, there seems to be a trend in Indy away from public schools and toward charter schools. So far, that seems to be an improvement.)
