Question

Help answer this question below.

I have an IBM Thinkpad laptop (circa '99) with no OS and no OEM floppy/cd. The BIOS starts fine, but it won't boot/install from Win98SE CD or Win98 start up floppy. Any help?

I assume that even though you have no OEM floppy/CD drive that you have an external third-party floppy and CD-drive... I would try poking around in the BIOS to see what devices your laptop is allowed to boot from. Make sure that the floppy drive is the first thing it tries to boot from, and if that doesn't work try putting the CDROM drive in the boot sequence before the hard drive as well.

    • He states he has no disk...not drive. They all come with cd rom and floppy drives.
