Where/how does a trend or a fashion start? Is there like a room of people that decide white shirts are suddenly "in" after seeing a fashion show, for example, and start to tell all the big stores to start designing more and selling them?

    hi. that is the question which is in everybody's mind. fashion has a history. basically fashion was taken from the different time periods and eras and was adopted according to the demands of the professional society.today fashion is a repition followed in a perticular fashion cycle in which after every 6-10 years fashion is repeated. so we are doing everything which has done already few years back. whereas your question is concernd there are fashion forecasting agencies having board of members (the top designers and executives) who decides what should come next, and then the process starts, beginning with the collection development, then the ramp walks till it is adapted by the general public, and here i should mention also that fashion is adapted class wise i-e upper, mediocare and lower. it depends upon the society what directions are followed, "trickle up", "trickle down" or the "trickle across". that is again another long story to discuss. but for your query fashion isnt click the mind at once and others start foloowing it, it goes through certain processes. the agencies that forecast fashion and also the colors for the perticular year are somewhat located in america , paris etc as to my knowledge. You can search the forecasting agencies that forecast the fashion and then the designers already the members of the agencies knew the fashion and then they bring it to the world to follow. :)
