Question

I just noticed that the cat treats that I have been buying for years have added coloring to some of the pieces. Thought that a cat's eyesight in color was not so good because they are made for seeing in low lighting. Why put green coloring on treats?

The colouring is meant to appeal to you, the owner... After all, if it looks better, it sells better.

Often, it's to suggest the variety of flavours in the kibble.

"Beneful" by Purina is a good example of this.
