I think it's really charming when a female speaks it. Kind of country when a man speaks it (like in music). In Japan the people in the South, Kasai (Western Japan) speak with a drawl type accent. The sentences are melodic so when a female speaks it, it sounds very charming. The Geiko (Geisha) and Maiko of Kyoto are famous for this accent.

You're reading Being from the Southern U.S., I an keenly aware of the "Southern Drawl." Do you automatically think someone is less intelligent when he/she speaks with a Southern Drawl?
