When you consider that there are over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, the ones that commit acts of violence are an extremely tiny proportion of that.
I could be wrong, but I don't think this extremely tiny minority is actually in touch with the vast majority of Muslims. I think they keep to themselves, because they see eye to eye with one another. They are consumed by the flames of revenge, and these flames are fuelled by what they pick up from the media - the media's bias, the invasion and occupation of Muslim lands, the killing and humiliation of Muslims in the occupied lands, the anti-Muslim laws being passed in some western countries, the violent attacks on Muslim women and old men, on mosques and even Muslim graves.
There is a lot of misinformation about Islam on the internet as well. We need more Muslims on the internet and in other media to draw attention to this misinformation.

I am looking at Muslims as a whole, not any particular country. The question is about Islam. Is it wonderful/peaceful? Islam does not instruct Muslims to go about killing others or themselves, and the vast, vast majority do not do so. If you ask yourself or any Muslim attending a mosque, how many of the Muslims he personally knows (family and friends) are senselessly violent, I will be shocked if the answer is 51%.
In a few weeks time millions from all over the world will once again be getting together in response to their religious teachings to perform a set of annual rituals. There is peace, tolerance and love in these gatherings despite the extreme overcrowding and other difficult circumstances they have to endure.
